  1. You Make Me Feel So Free, Angelou and Troubadours – in one set!! Can’t go wrong
YMMF So Free is a true underappreciated classic IMHO. Need to dig around to see if I have the lossless somewhere

  2. Sorry just to say (in case you missed it as I did) if you are one of the good souls who expressed an interest in the lossless capture of Van in Ireland ’79, there is now a link to the WAV and some lineage details in the comments thread on the original post.

Cheers for sticking that up Mat, enjoy all

  3. Nice selection of tracks for 79. Kind of 73 meets 78….

Same question I often ask – any thoughts on SQ
    anybody??
    Thanks

  4. @ Tony

The sound quality is alright, sounds like a soundboard to me, a bit harsh though. Not perfect, but certainly not bad either.

@DylanDave, thanks again for the lossless capture 🙂

  5. Thanks.
    Yes, perfectly listenable –
    and a great set.

    I always think of 79 as a watershed year…
1978 his shows are kind of very standard ‘rock’ shows
to my ears – guitar driven, the set lists written in stone,
little (or no) improvisation from the band

then in 1980, wow, a performance like Montreaux.
Probably my absolute favourite show from Van all in all.

I guess Pee Wee really brought a lot to the table…………..

    Thanks Mat
