  1. Thank you very much for sharing. ’69 to ’73 were the golden years for the Stones.

  2. I think it was 73 or between then & 75, I went w/a friend to stones show in Buffalo. It was a summer show. It might’ve been rich stadium, but can’t remember for sure. All I remember is I took the approx 90 mi ride to the show in a friend’s school bus, along with a small bunch of other friends. As we made a few stops in our town to pick up some ppl to bring, I spotted a chick I kinda liked & got her to come along to see the stones, but she was maybe a little young & next thing I know, her father saw her get on the bus & came chasing after his daughter but we were having none of it, lol & just kept a rollin on, at least as far as I remember. At the show, it was very hot & the entire huge place was as packed as I had ever seen anything anywhere.. The friend & I made our way all the way up to the very front of the crowd, right up against a snow fence in front of the stage & the surge of the huge crowd behind us was literally pressing us dangerously into the fence. It actually was so bad that it was like being fed into a meat grinder. I can’t remember if we called for help or not, but we were in some serious distress & I’ll never forget that moment of terror, when luckily, some crew guys saw our situation and grabbed our hands and lifted us up over the fence & then directed us out to where we could go to the back of the crowd which we must’ve been more than happy to go to. The only other things I remember was how cool jagger l pressed me as looking in his getup. I seem to remember like a yellow leather jacket of some kind d but that doesn’t make sense considering how hot it was. Maybe he donned that at after sun went down & things cooled off. I don’t have to tell you, around 73, how messed up ppl were at this show. The other thing I remember is that my friend & I later met back up with some of the other bus ppl & found out that some of them had gotten in some kind of trouble trying to sell fake blotter, which was a pretty crummy thing to do, esp at a 73ish stones show. I have tried to find a boot of the show but I can’t seem to figure out exactly when it was.. I know it had to be somewhere between latter 72 & 75, but so far can’t find it. Sure would love to see some video of that scene… I don’t think that girls dad ever caught up w/me, but she was fine.

  6. @zowie
Thx. I thought it was a maybe earlier than that date, thinking back to what I remember was going on in those days, but if there was no other rich stadium shows between those yrs I mentioned, then it must’ve been the 8-8 show. I know there was an earlier show in june but it was an auditorium show. There’s a pretty good sounding recording on YouTube but no video. What I listened to sounded much like the way I remember it, as far that’s possible, lol. I also read reports that there had been alot of ppl carried out on stretchers due to bad acid dubbed “yellow sunshine”, but I don’t recall anything like that. (altho maybe that has something to w/my memory of yellow jacket jagger wore?). Another report said jagger dropped acid before the show & wound up singing the wrong song to the music playing…but other say that isn’t true but that he did sound pretty messed up. It was a heleva experience is all I remember. Strangely enuff, a couple mos later I drove to Phoenix AZ w/my soon to be wife & we attended a concert at Tempe stadium (sun devil stadium) which also included Barbra Streisand & Kris kristofferson & it was filmed to be part of the movie “a star is born”, released in 76. In the movie kristofferson drives his motorcycle off the stage & into the crowd (I think). I would’ve more expected that at the stones concert than a Streisand concert, lol.
