  1. I have these, presumably the same file sets – ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL – two of the best RTR shows and Joni too!!!!

  2. Pretty sure you gave them to me Dave. So thanks for that. Actually I sent you an e-mail on it a few days ago to get some better source and track info, but it must have got lost.

To all: this is the best information I could find on both shows. I’m quite sure some of the MP3s are mislabeled. Its difficult to find who exactly is singing and performing on some of these songs.

Also I’m curious as to everyone’s thoughts on those links? There was a whole bunch of them and I got lazy and didn’t want to have to type out “part 1, part 2…” like I normally do and plug in all that code. So I just did it this way? Is this ok, or would you prefer I go back to the old links?

Killer stuff though, totally worth downloading.

  3. Mat,

I’ll dig around for whatever i’ve got on these. Have some artwork from older 2*4 cd issues i got as mp3 years back. All issues originate from same tape sources. I think these later file sets are master or close to it anyway. I seem to recall posting links in comments here to recent postings of these shows on g101. I definitely didn’t send you the actual files on this one.

Big respect and thanks to all involved in taping, sharing over the years and now posting these ‘killer’ shows

In my humble opinion i’d say they are worth grabbing for the ultra rare live Joni sets, on top of all the other more obvious reasons.

  4. ps Mat – I found the zippy auto file splitter to be just fine and dandy. I’m assuming of course that you managed to unzip the ones i posted for you ok. Is that the method you used here i.e. one zip file and multiple z01, z02 files etc. Basically anyone who can open EDGE’s posts will have no issues. Just need to remind people to select and ‘extract’ only the .zip file and let the software automatically find the other 200mb z01, z02 etc parts.

you need winrar or winzip i believe

  5. Just went looking to see who sent me this show. Twas an old friend of the site who sent me a ton of great things over a year ago. Strange to see all the people who have come and gone on this site over the years. I’ve met so many cool folks doing this.

Anyways, yes I had no problem unzipping the stuff you’ve send Dave.

When you want to start working on the Dylan and Dead shows?

  6. God call Mat, i guess the first stage is me getting the Dylan sets to you so I’ll try to make a start in next day or two. should be nice and easy now we are both ‘fibred’ on the broadband.

ps Definitely recommend that zippy splitter in the uploader software – could save you a load of hassle methinks

  7. Where are you finding this zippysplitter?

Comment by Mat Brewster | September 10, 2014 | Reply

  8. Mat

    It’s a function/option within the uploader

    http://www.zippyshare.com/sites/uploader.jsp

I’ve only used it once or twice but it worked perfectly

  9. Ah, its Windows only. No wonder I’ve never seen it. I’m an Apple boy.

  10. Shame, it’s really good

Anyway i’ve just ent you 2 emails, one with some art etc for this post and another re the Dylan/Dead dates

I’m amazed there hasn’t been more feedback on this fab post!
This is a fantastic chance for people to get these great (and enormous)shows at ‘zippy’ speed. It took me ages to d’l this stuff from other more mundane hosts!

Come on people grab ’em while they’re hot!!

  11. This is an upgrade to what I had. Thank-you very much for this & yes, Zippyshare is fast & clean.

  12. How does the sound compare with the “flaggin’ down” boot ??

Thank you Mat – but just wondering how much more Rolling
    Thunder I realistically need

    what a part-timer I am !!

  13. Thanks for the chance to hear these – and assume from reading the comments they are of a great quality. I saw – not these – but one of these ‘shows’ and part of the whole listening to these again will be trying to imagine what it must have looked like – that was a parat of the whole Rolling Thunder Review – watching the 2 twins – at the start – perform a song and then hear.at least the night we saw a/the Review one of them just state – Dylan – and he sang. You would see the different performer appear on stage – and wonder what would happen – and then slowly but surely Zimmerman would show himself – solo, with guest or co-star and then play a set with the core musicians. Imagine seeing, in 1975, Dylan and Mick Ronson on the same stage – and it felt right. Different parts of the review – different artists (still have never got Joan Baez and I’m sorry) but you knew you were seeing a bit of your own musical history playing before your own eyes and also knew this just wasn’t some concert – it was Rolling Thunder. Only thing I wished would have taken place – The Band should have been along for the ride!. Thanks – again and always – for your work of love with this site – and thanks for sharing it with your readers. All the best

  14. Thanks for the RTR shows!
The taper did a pretty good job, I’d say.

  15. Anyone have Bob Dylan at Civic Centre, Portland, Maine, 16th September 1978? I was there but never seen this gig appear anywhere.

  17. I dl all all three mp3 parts for 12/2/75 but the part 3 ends with Roger McGuinn’s Chestnut Mare.

just wondering where the rest of the show is?

    Comment by starchild | September 13, 2014 | Reply

  18. Thanks for the heads up starchild. I thought I had them all but with so many tracks it was easy to miss some.

Can you do me a favor and let me know exactly which songs are missing? Thanks.

Comment by Mat Brewster | September 13, 2014 | Reply

  19. as I commented before, part 3 ends with Chesnut Mare, so the following is missing

    *** Gordon Lightfoot ***
    Baez intro
    Race Among The Ruins
    Cherokee Bend
    High & Dry
    Sundown
    *** Bob Dylan ***
    Mr. Tambourine Man
    Tangled Up In Blue
    O Sister
    Hurricane
    One More Cup Of Coffee
    Sara
    Just Like A Woman
    Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door
    This Land Is Your Land

thank you for your prompt response and also your efforts in spreading the music far and wide is highly appreciated

    much mahalo…

  20. Alright. I figured it was that but wanted to make sure. I’m out and about right now but I’ll try to get the rest of it up soon.
