  3. No I downloaded the FLAC zip and then ran audiochecker on the extracted files. The result given by audiochecker was 95% MPEG.

  4. Oh, weird. I’m not entirely sure what that means. Are you saying someone converted lossy files into FLAC at some point?

  5. Yes that is what it looks like. I have found this to be a problem on numerous sites. I don’t see what anybody can gain from it.

  6. How very strange. I know in the CD trading days there were some folks who would convert MP3 to FLAC (or SHN, or WAV or whatever) because a lot of folks wouldn’t trade for MP3, but I didn’t realize that was still going on.
