Clean site. Good writing. Great attitude. Thanks. Phrenseed @ Gnuzworks.com
hi there – just discovered your blog. As someone who used to pore over the Hot Wax bible back in the day, i really appreciate the fact that you take the time to review and pass on bootleg info/etc.
This may be a profoundly stupid question to ask – but have you downloaded Soulseek yet? After years of trying to cobble together shows from napsterkazaaemulelimewireetc, it is a bootleg-lover’s dream come true. There are many people there with 1000+ A+ qual shows in ever genre imaginable. Like i said, perhaps i was just late to the party and you’ve known about the program forever – but just in case – definitely chk it out =)
Thx for the blog…it’s appreciated – keep it coming!
– LO
Thanks Lo. I actually have never heard of soulseek. I’ll have to check it out.
Thanks for checking this out too. It’s be way to slow for way to long, but I’m working on reviving the Nation, and I’ve got a bit of Pete Seeger coming this way very shortly.
“I’ll have to check it out.”
cool – you won’t be disappointed. If you’d like to check out a soulseek [or ‘slsk’, as it is commonly abbreviated] related forum, go here: http://forums.slsknet.org/ipb/
“I’m working on reviving the Nation”
excellent – can’t wait to see the results
“I’ve got a bit of Pete Seeger coming this way very shortly.”
Nice! A personal favorite of mine, and someone whose boots don’t often appear [in my experience, at least], despite the incredible number of shows he’s done in his long career. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on the show you’ve found
– LO
Hi,
Reading your reviews gives me the feeling we have similar musical tastes. I’m a lomg time Emmylou fan and I love Wilco, John Prine, Nancy Griffith, Patty Griffin, Joan Armatrading. Live Shows I’ve enjoyed have in recent years have included Leon Redbone, John Prine, The Roches, Leo Kottke, Hot Tuna(with a TERRIFIC opening set by “Railroad Earth” a bluegrass jam band you might want to check out). I was wondering, have you ever gotten to see the late great John Fahey? I wish I had. Thanks for the great site.
Thanks for the comment Rich (and sorry for the slight delay, too much spam so I have it set on an approval basis.)
Love Railroad Earth, caught them about a year ago here in Indiana. Never did see John Fahey, actually I’m not really familiar with that name at all.
I appreciate you stopping by.
